Built on family…The Persson Family

Since it’s inception, the Nordic has been built on strong family ties.  The original owners immigrated from Norway and Sweden and purchased the property in 1963.  After many years of meager success, the “all you can eat” format was adopted and showed promising signs of potential.  Word quickly got out and we began hosting guests from all over the Northeast.  Today, over 60 years and 4 generations later, we graciously host guests from all over the world and you’ll find the same family running the day to day operations of the restaurant.   Feel free to ask for one of us, we’re always here! 

The Nordic Grounds

It has always been a strongly held belief of ours that a trip to The Nordic is more than just a great meal.  It is our hope that all our guests budget time before or after their meal to stroll our meticulously landscaped grounds and enjoy the flowers, stonework, and beautiful lakeside ambiance.  We even host live lakeside music for you to enjoy from June-Sept.

Stop and say hello to the fluffy residents that call The Nordic home!

Grover and Pedro are Alpacas. Alpacas originate from South America and are prized for their warm and soft fiber. Visit our Gift Shop to find hats, socks, and more made from them!

Also calling the Nordic home are sheep, Oakley the miniature rescue donkey and Aspen the Quarter Horse.

    “You have never experienced anything like this. Top-notch food, top-notch service. The grounds of the restaurant are beautiful, great photo opportunity. It’s an experience that’s for sure. I go at least once a year. It’s only open seasonal so plan accordingly. It’s all you can eat Seafood plus everything else. It is pricey, but I think it’s worth the price with the quality of food, the ambience and the whole experience. It’s also great to go for a special occasion.”
